Anton Teschner

This is my special area to tell you a little about me... Like you really care.
Anyways... I play a Selmer Reference 36 with an Otto Link #8 mouthpiece. I use Bari reeds when playing 4hr bar gigs. You know the plastic kind. The plastic reed keeps my mouth from drying out, plus the Otto Link is very forgiving...especially when I've had a few screwdrivers during the course of a gig. I play through a SM-57. This along with the plastic reeds and the 110 opening (110 is about all I can handle) plus a little 'growl' now and again, give me a bright, honking, nasty (when I need it...) kind of sound.
We have been the 'house band' at the Bird Cage when Joe Houston shows up in town. Playing with that guy gives you an appreciation for how honkin' loud a sax can get. Playing with him wears you out. He's impressive for a 70+ year old guy. I almost feel like I have to go into training to build some extra lung power when I hear he's coming to town. One time, he even left with a woman half his age. I want to be just like him when I 'grow up'.
I also play a little guitar. Well actually I play Flamenco guitar with a group called RIO here in Prescott. I also play Flamenco for some dancers...Flamenco dancers that is. I have been playing guitar since I was 14 and I also play a little Jazz.
Prescott is a great little music
town. It's possible for a musician to play 3-5 night a week. The musicians here
are very welcoming to most 'players'. So, if you ever come to visit
Prescott and can play... make sure you bring you axe, harp, horn or whatever.
